Overview

Rapiscan, an OSI Systems Company is seeking a Service Planner, based out of Billerica, MA.

Rapiscan Systems, an OSI Systems, Inc. company, designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products are used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for weapons, explosives, drugs and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations, and nuclear facilities.

The Service Planner is responsible for supporting the materials needs of customers across the global install base. The Service Planner will maintain and improve customer support and satisfaction while managing inventory levels across multiple locations. The Service Planner will manage the reverse logistics of all field returns, toolbox inventory, and RMA products, as well as coordinating refurbishment and repair of materials at suppliers and within the factory.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the shipment of materials to support customer needs as prioritized by the field service and technical support teams. Release and dispatch sales and service orders as needed.
  • Work with Field Service Customer Service Coordinators on Returned Material Authorizations for shipment of returned assets from the field.
  • Provide input in developing a service inventory forecast and establishing and managing regional min/max inventory stocking levels, including evaluating new field replaceable units as new products are introduced.
  • Ensure efficient processing and disposition of all field returns.
  • Work with production managers to assign assembly/test/configuration resources to meet customer commitments. Release applicable production orders to the manufacturing floor and track to completion.
  • Support programs to capture savings through OEM warranty and refurbishment wherever applicable.
  • Identify material shortages/issues and labor capacity conflicts and resolve through the production and supply chain teams.
  • Provide input on Engineering Change Orders and Engineering Change Requests and manage implementation and material availability as needed to support the install base.
  • Support business execution of customer upgrade programs and initiatives from providing initial lead times to shipment of product to final destination.
  • Support master data maintenance and planning processes, ensuring integrity of data to optimize inventory performance.
  • Manage obsolescence issues and prioritize engineering qualification for spare parts and execute LTBs on any affected items.
  • Run, update, and distribute regional backlog order reports to the regional customer service teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (in business or supply chain) or High School Diploma and equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years' experience
  • Experience in planning in a service or refurbishment manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge and experience with ERP and MRP systems (MS Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, etc).
