The Dimensional Engineer Lead is responsible for leading dimensional project improvements on vehicle geometry through part, tooling, or design actions. The Engineer will work with metrology center/plant/validation team members to analyze complex parts and sub-assemblies (sheet metal, exterior and interior) as well as complex tooling and assembly fixtures using various measurement systems (example; Meisterbock, quality assurance fixtures, laser trackers, CMMs, In-Line Vision Stations). The Dimensional Engineer Lead will supervise engineers (both salary and salary-represented) and union represented skilled trades (layout personnel). Coach team members through the collection, analysis, and organization of data from multiple sources and help to ensure its integrity in order to identify top issues and potential root causes. Work with production personnel, plant quality engineers, and supplier quality to recommend and validate proposed solutions including verifying effectiveness of corrective actions implemented through data analysis. Proactively monitor overall metrology metrics and work with cross-functional teams to drive variation reduction of critical product and process characteristics. Basic Qualifications:
