Hourly Pay Range:

$39.72 - $61.57 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

  • Position: Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist Lead
  • Location: Swedish Hospital, Chicago
  • Full Time - 40 hours/week
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • On Call requirements

A Brief Overview:
The function of this job is to organize and distribute work assignments, to schedule personnel and evaluate performance, and to work in the exam rotation.

What you will do:

  • Performance of ultrasound and vascular exams.
  • Patient scheduling and flow.
  • Perform daily quality assurance tasks. Schedule maintenance and service calls.
  • Prepare call schedule. Daily work schedule. Performance evaluations.
  • Order supplies.
  • Understands the utilization of PACS.
  • Orientation and training of staff.
  • Adheres to all OSHA and Infection Control Policies.
  • The duties listed may not be all inclusive.
  • Assist in the transporting of acutely ill patients as needed.
  • Assist with clerical duties (phone, scheduling, computer entry, etc.).
  • Help insure safe and clean working environment for patients and co-workers.


What you will need:

  • 3 Years registered Sonographer.
  • Monitor all patient activities (appointment wait times, inpatient turnaround time, transport delays, etc...) and actively resolves issues not within standards.
  • Provide orientation and on-going training of all staff in the Ultrasound/Vascular department and clerical support staff.
  • Prepare and maintains staffing schedules.
  • Monitors and adjusts staffing levels as workload dictates.
  • Prepares and conducts performance evaluations on staff.
  • Orders and maintains supplies within budget.
  • Responsible for assuring quality control of equipment is performed and recorded.
  • Schedule maintenance and service calls.
  • Assist Radiology Manager and Administrative Director in major purchases of equipment, and any other projects as needed.
  • Holds and records meeting with staff as needed.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Required Or
  • Registered Vascular Technologist - Vascular Technology - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Required And
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) - American Heart Association (AHA) Required
