A Brief Overview

The Applied Clinical Research Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) advances research that aims to improve the health and well-being of children nationwide. One of the Center's leading initiatives is Thriving, a research program committed to deepening our understanding of pediatric health, wellbeing, and resilience through a developmental ecosystem lens. Thriving examines a wide range of topics including the prevalence of chronic diseases, trends in physical, mental, and developmental conditions, and biomarkers of aging - to explore how early-life experiences shape long-term health trajectories. This work offers critical insights into the developmental, biological, and social determinants of healthy childhood development.

We are seeking a part-time, hybrid Clinical Research Assistant to support Dr. Forrest and the Thriving initiative. Under the direct supervision of the PI and other members of the study team, the Research Assistant will contribute to this ongoing research initiative exploring how childhood experiences shape adult health outcomes. Responsibilities will support the development of a forthcoming book as well as several peer-reviewed publications. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel), data analysis tools (SQL, Python, R), and other relevant applications is a plus.

  • Design and develop visual and oral research presentations for academic and professional audiences
  • Verify the accuracy and integrity of manuscript content through rigorous fact-checking
