State Department Federal Credit Union is seeking aBranch Supervisortoserve as a key member of the branch leadership team, supporting daily operations while providing guidance and coaching to Branch Member Service Representatives (Branch MSRs). This role is responsible for ensuring high service standards, operational accuracy, and compliance with all Credit Union policies and regulations. The Branch Supervisor acts as a visible leader on the floor, supports training efforts, and serves as the go-to resource for complex transactions and member concerns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Handles cash transactions, account maintenance, new memberships, loans, and member problem resolution
  • Ensures branch opening/closing procedures are followed and operations run smoothly
  • Supervises vault processes, dual control procedures, and cash device reconciliation
  • Conducts surprise cash audits, vault audits, and maintains accurate documentation per internal controls
  • Directs MSR daily activities and ensures staff coverage
  • Guides MSRs and new hires, offering feedback and fostering skill development
  • Contributes to evaluations, manages documentation, and acts as MSR liaison for issue resolution
  • Serves as the welcoming face of the branch, resolving concerns and promoting a positive member experience
  • Provides advanced support for SDFCU products and complex member transactions
  • Coordinates with branch leadership for consistent operations and provides coverage when needed


Qualifications

Required Skills and Competencies:



  1. Minimum of three years of financial institution experience, with knowledge of both cash-handling and platform services.
  2. Supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
  3. Strong working knowledge of credit union regulations, operational procedures, and service standards.
  4. High level of professionalism, interpersonal skills, and service orientation.
  5. Demonstrated ability to coach others, give feedback, and contribute to team development.
  6. Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
  7. Effective time management and organizational skills.
  8. Ability to communicate clearly in writing and in person.
  9. Comfort using standard office and financial services technology, including MS Office and core processing systems.
  10. Associate degree preferred; additional training in leadership, coaching, or compliance is a plus.
