We have an existing client looking to hire a Supply Chain Consultant for a TMS (Transportation Management System) project. Preferred status will be given to those in the Chicago area, but will also consider out of town candidates working remotely if they are willing to come on site as needed.
Our client is currently looking at ways to to make its TMS process more efficient. Requirements have been gathered and now we are looking to bring in a consultant that comes from the IT side, has experience in TMS implementations to help guide them through the process to understand strengths and limitations of potential software (Such as SAP TM, Manhattan, Blue Yonder, to name a few), and then work to identfy and implement this solution along with the integrator. This person should come from a technical background but now be the SME or Sr BSA to work directly with the stakeholders, make sure the requirements are accurate and then stay through solution implementation, first for TMS and then for WMS. Candidates should possess functional and technical skills, as well as demonstrate leadership and change management for TMS implementation. Responsibilities include designing and executing Transportation Management Systems, as well as facilitating workshops to gather requirements and translate them into system specifications, while standardizing processes and incorporating best practices. Successful candidates will manage strategic challenges and ensure that supply chain technology aligns with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities: The IT Functional/Technical will lead the design and development of TMS solutions, focusing on optimizing processes to enhance efficiency and growth. Solution Design and Delivery *Design and implement innovative solutions for Transportation Management Systems (TMS) that meet business needs. *Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications. *Conduct system testing and troubleshooting and resolve any issues that arise. *Oversee and develop comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, technical designs, and user manuals. *Work on medium to large-scale IT projects, ensuring successful delivery using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. *Provide insights and recommendations for system enhancements and process improvements. *Complete assigned tasks, identify risks, and develop contingency plans. *Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies and governance frameworks. *Proactively seek feedback to identify unmet needs in the logistics and transportation market, incorporating insights into the strategy to achieve divisional objectives effectively. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* * Knowledge of CSV (Computer System Validation) and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $100.00/hr.
