Overview

TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) is a globally known energy efficiency consultancy. TRC collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building in multiple market sectors across the US and around the world. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. TRC acts nationally to address some of our country's most challenging problems: global climate change and energy independence.

TRC is seeking a qualified individual to support commercial programs as an Outreach and Engineering specialist in the Kentucky Power territory. The ideal candidate is outgoing, personable, and excited to support successful program outreach initiatives with superb communication skills. We are seeking team members who are passionate about engaging with the building industry and have the desire to build and maintain solid relationships with contractors, trade allies, the local community organizations, and local businesses. Candidates must possess strong technical capabilities including knowledge of building systems and energy efficiency.

This position requires the ability to communicate effectively and coordinate with internal technical team members and external customers. This position requires active engagement with potential customers, trade allies and market players to analyze energy efficiency projects, contribute to the preparation and implementation of sales plans & campaigns, and provides marketing intelligence to the larger team. Candidate must be detail-oriented, have strong communication and customer service skills, and the capacity to handle multiple projects. The position requires the ability to manage projects, flexibility, diversity of technical expertise, strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, and excellent customer care skills.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase participation in the residential homes program.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Engineering/Tech Support, Marketing, Operations, and utility customers and their consultants/trade allies.
  • Contribute to project submittals through engagement with end-users and Trade Ally network.
  • Responsible for training and managing Trade Ally network.
  • Maintaining technical proficiency when consulting with prospective customers regarding participation.
  • Build mutually beneficial relationships with industry organizations, trades, and trade allies.
  • Maintaining Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system by inputting outreach leads and contacts established.
  • Conducting meetings and presentations and provide answers to technical and program related questions.
  • Communicating frequently with program participants regarding application and completion document requirements.
  • Keeping informed of program changes, incentive status, and other information for customers.
  • Communicate program implementation status to internal and external team members.
  • Identify market opportunities for new energy-efficient end-use technologies.
  • Act as liaison and presenter/public speaker at public industry events.
  • Developing and reviewing calculations and assumptions used to estimate energy savings.
  • Providing technical assistance to customers, contractors, and other stakeholders including support with energy savings calculations and meeting program requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Residency in the State of Kentucky, specific to the Kentucky Power territory.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Bachelors Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
    OR Associate's degree and 5+ years of
    OR 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle, clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle.
  • Experience in residential energy sales, program design or implementation.
  • Strong customer service skills that include highly effective communication in-person, over email, and over the phone.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with program participants and market partners.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and motivate teams to achieve goals while maintaining program integrity.
  • Experience with communicating technical expertise and data interpretation to nontechnical audience.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Awareness and familiarity with Kentucky Power energy efficiency landscape, related regulatory requirements, and key players.
  • Experience in field visits to commercial customers.
  • Experience resolving conflict situations.
  • Excellent time management skills and organizational skills including the ability to monitor and manage progress while seeking additional opportunities within new or repeat customers.
  • Experience utilizing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system or a similar system to effectively track pipeline, outreach, and business development activities.
  • Proficiency with computer and mobile technology devices.
  • Outgoing, positive, and professional with experience and comfort with public speaking and direct outreach, networking.
  • Stay in tune with the market for feedback and help program strategize accordingly.
  • Desire to be a quick and eager learner of new material and think holistically through complex problems, with technical and non-technical components.
  • Certification or membership related to the building or energy industry.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
