As Program Manager, you will foster high-quality, meaningful connections with all stakeholders, leading and coordinating enterprise-wide Emergency Services initiatives and improvement activities aimed at advancing health equity throughout communities we serve.

What You'll Do:

As the Program Manager, in partnership with the Clinical Operations Director, Department Chair, Medical Providers, and Clinical Manager(s), you will be responsible for the planning, implementing and business functions of all regional aspects of Emergency Services. Emergency Services include Emergency Services La Crosse, Emergency Medicine, Onalaska Urgent Care, and Winona Urgent Care. You will participate in clinician recruiting, onboarding, and maintaining clinician position control to support strategic priorities. As the Program Manager, you will provide financial performance oversight and analysis of operations including project management, development of financial forecasts for services and support of new service evaluations with market research. You will be responsible for identification of opportunities for operational efficiencies and development/oversight of associated contracts. You will continuously improve and monitor key strategy metrics that are shared regularly with medical and administrative leadership and staff, including facilitating regional Emergency Medicine meetings, and collaborating with regional medical directors. The Program Manager will steward Systemness by autonomous interfaces in all regional partnered emergency services departments and be responsible for collaborating, initiating, and overseeing quality improvement and all other projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as a liaison between regions, departments, and outside communities. Partner with Critical Access Hospitals to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (EMTALA, The Joint Commission, CMS), Gundersen Health System policies and procedures, confidentiality standards, practice guidelines, and standards of care

  • Partner with Clinical Operations Director and Clinical Manager(s) to provide input in establishing the budget, develop systems for financial analysis, variance reporting, dashboards/benchmarking, and monitor operations to ensure financial stewardship

  • Conduct market research, financial evaluation, and business case analysis for projects, programs, and Emergency Services development and growth

  • Develop and operationalize execution plans and coordination of work activities associated with Emergency Services strategic priorities and business initiatives

  • Leverage advanced concepts and project management tools to manage the implementation and maintenance of designated programs

  • Initiate master plan for utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations

What's Available:

  • Fulltime, 80 hours biweekly (1.0 FTE)

  • Monday-Friday, normal business hours

  • Onsite in La Crosse, WI with travel based on business needs

  • Salary range of $72,800 to $114,000, commensurate with experience

What You'll Need:

  • A minimum of an Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business, or a health related field

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed minimally in the state of Wisconsin

  • 3-4 yearsof experience in program/project management development and coordination

  • Proven clinical or equivalent healthcare experience demonstrating the ability to lead and manage multiple priorities/projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences and foster positive working relationships and promote collaborative practice

  • Prior Emergency Services experience or experience in healthcare program management/program development with experience working with business plans and quality improvement projects, desired
