Job Description
This role will be on a hybrid schedule based out of our Chicago or Dallas-Fort Work office, applicants should expect to be in office several times per month The Sales Operations Business Analyst plays a crucial role within the Enterprise and North America Channel Sales team, ensuring the precision and reliability of our sales systems. This position is vital for maintaining accurate sales credit assignments, reconciling opportunities, and managing order and revenue splits, directly impacting sales team reporting and compensation. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing critical performance reports to the sales team and meticulously maintaining complex order and revenue splits, particularly for our key partners. You will also be a primary driver in identifying and implementing further automation opportunities to enhance the accuracy and integrity of sales data, ultimately bolstering trust in the systems that underpin sales compensation. Responsibilities include:
System Data Integrity: Maintain the accuracy of ARZM/VSTM assignments and Ship To records across various systems, ensuring precise order and revenue attribution. Revenue Allocation Management: Administer and apply complex order and revenue splits for key partners, including Bearcom and MCA for proper SIP allocation. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between the Sales Operations team and IT, specifically for systems like SMS and EDH, to ensure seamless data flow and system functionality. Data Correction & Optimization: Regularly update Indirect tables to correctly reclassify misallocated Direct orders to the appropriate channel members. Financial Closing Support: Execute essential tasks for the Quarter End Closing process and perform quarterly reconciliation of VAD splits for financial reporting and SIP allocation. Sales Credit Management: Apply Pencil Credits as needed to accurately reflect sales achievements by CSE. Performance Reporting: Generate and distribute recurring reports to provide the sales team with critical performance insights. Business Acumen & Relationship Building: Actively participate in sales team meetings to develop a deep understanding of business operations and foster strong, collaborative relationships. Sales Team Support: Address and resolve on-demand issues submitted by the sales team, providing timely and effective solutions.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive experience in Sales Operations, Business Analytics, or a related analytical role, preferably within a channel sales environment. Proven experience working with complex sales data, reporting, and system administration.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), including data management, report generation, and dashboard creation. Strong Excel / Google Sheet skills for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas). Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is highly desirable. Familiarity with ERP systems and other sales-related technologies.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
Exceptional analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data. Proven ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and derive actionable insights. Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose system issues, data discrepancies, and process inefficiencies. A proactive and inquisitive mindset, always seeking to understand the "why" behind the data.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, from sales representatives to senior leadership and IT teams. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate cross-functionally. Ability to translate technical concepts into business terms and vice-versa. A confident and professional demeanor, capable of influencing and negotiating.
Organizational & Time Management Skills:
Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with sales compensation plan administration. Knowledge of sales methodologies and best practices. Experience in process automation initiatives.
Target Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000 USD Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of progressive experience in Sales Operations, Business Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
