The Merchandise Manager is responsible for developing and implementing merchandise strategies that optimize product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies to align with the company's sales and profit objectives. This role demands close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including marketing, inventory management, and sales. The Merchandise Manager plays a pivotal role in comprehending consumer trends, market demand, and sales data to make informed decisions that fuel business growth.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Merchandising Strategy: Develop and implement merchandise strategies that align with the company's business goals, target audience, and market trends.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with inventory teams to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize excess inventory, and manage product replenishment efficiently.
  • Sales Analysis: Monitor sales data and product performance, adjusting strategies based on sales trends, customer feedback, and profitability metrics.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, e-commerce, and sales teams to ensure seamless execution of merchandising initiatives across all channels.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to anticipate changes in demand and optimize product offerings.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, merchandising, marketing, or related field.
  • Proven experience (3-5+ years) in merchandising or product management, preferably in retail, e-commerce, or related industries.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using sales data to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in merchandising software and inventory management tools.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Knowledge of market trends, consumer behavior, and retail industry best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Planogram experience is a plus



Preferred Skills:



  • Advanced knowledge of merchandising tools like Excel, ERP systems, or other retail management platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze data and develop actionable insights.



Supervisory Responsibilities:


This position has no supervisory responsibilities.



Basic Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Two to four years of related experience

  • Experienced store operations Associate with outstanding skills in customer service, tool product knowledge, understanding of and ability to sell importance of service in the tool rental equation, inventory control experience, problem solving skills (both technical & financial), good communications skills and ability to build relationships with repeat customers.



Language Skills:



  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.



Mathematical Skills:



  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.



Reasoning Ability:



  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.



Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:



  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • In some stores you will need to be able to pass the forklift Certification after being hired.

  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
