Position: Japanese Bilingual Assistant Accounting Manager
Location: Torrance, CA (hybrid, 2 days a week onsite)
Employment: Exempt, Direct-Hire, Full-Time
OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing general accounting and internal control operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. The main duties include preparing month-end close procedures and financial reports, maintaining the general ledger, creating and maintaining accounting and internal control budgets, and assisting with audit preparations. Qualified candidate must be Japanese bilingual and has accounting supervisory experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including intercompany and branch-level transactions
Review and verify accounts payable/receivable entries and ensure proper allocation
Analyze financial statements and prepare variance reports against budgets and forecasts
Support financial planning by conducting revenue projections, cost analysis, and expenditure forecasting
Develop and monitor budgets and internal control procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency
Coordinate and support external audits; compile required documentation and respond to auditor inquiries
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, audit findings, and compliance issue
Support members of the accounting department as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual in Japanese and English, with fluency in reading, writing, and speaking
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
At least 1 year of supervisory or management experience
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and data analysis functions

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
