Position Summary:

The SVP, Director of Marketing Operations is responsible for partnering with strategic brand marketing managers and internal stakeholders on the technical, operational, and data-driven aspects of marketing campaigns and platforms. This role owns the management and strategy of the marketing technology stack and oversees the systems that support lead generation, campaign automation, digital experience, creative services, and analytics.

As the leader of the Marketing Operations function, this person manages a team across marketing automation (Marketo), website/digital experience, creative services, and project management. This role will also partner closely with Sales, IT, and Brand teams to ensure marketing activities are insight-driven, compliant, and strategically aligned.

The ideal candidate will be both a strategic thinker and tactical executor, able to drive performance through scalable systems while also supporting in-the-weeds execution when needed. Due to continued organizational growth through acquisitions, a key focus for this position will be creating synergy across multiple platforms and processes, especially related to marketing automation, analytics, and campaign operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Owns the marketing technology ecosystem, including marketing automation platforms (Marketo), CRM integration (Salesforce), analytics dashboards, and campaign delivery tools (e.g., SMS, email).
  • Leads and manages the Martech & Tools stack including partnerships with platforms such as marketing automation (Marketo), compliance and regulatory (Litmus and Monsido), and CRM (Salesforce) with an emphasis on developing long-term strategy and consolidating tools as needed.
  • Develops and maintains marketing data governance, measurement frameworks, and dashboards; collaborates with Sales, Product, CX and internal stakeholders to deliver actionable reporting and campaign insights.
  • Oversees all campaign automation and segmentation strategy via Marketo to support acquisition, nurturing, and cross-sell marketing programs.
  • Drives strategy and oversight of multiple branded websites and co-branded investor or partner sites in partnership with IT and third-party vendors.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Technology Engineer on the Data and Analytics team to oversee marketing permissions management, including email opt-ins and SMS marketing compliance. Leads the creative services team, including internal design resources and external agency partners, ensuring effective execution across print, digital, and multimedia assets.
  • Partners with the Project Management team to support the effective use of project management platforms and processes related to marketing requests, creative projects, timelines, and approvals. Develops and enforces standard operating procedures for campaign execution, data handling, and asset management.
  • Establishes strong working relationships across departments to integrate marketing operations into enterprise-wide growth initiatives.
  • Leads and manages a team of four direct reports across:
    • Marketing Automation & Campaign Execution
    • Website & Digital Experience
    • Marketing Data and Analytics Strategy & Oversight
    • Creative Services & Agency Relationships
  • Champions best practices in marketing technology, campaign execution, and compliance, ensuring consistent experience and measurable impact.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, Information Technology, or related field required or equivalent work experience.
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in marketing, digital strategy, or marketing technology leadership, with exposure to marketing operations, analytics, or automation systems. Strong experience with marketing automation platforms and processes. Experience with Marketo, Salesforce or Hubspot is a plus.
  • Experience leading complex martech transitions, rebrands, and agency RFPs.
  • Project and vendor management experience, including martech implementation projects.
  • Proven track record of collaboration with Sales and executive leadership to deliver marketing performance reporting and campaign insights.
  • Experience in a multi-brand or post-acquisition environment preferred.
  • Background in financial services, transportation, or highly regulated industries a plus.
