Research Senior Technician to assist and support scientific investigation to study mammalian neuronal signaling as directed in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology; independently conducts assigned experiments; performs a variety of molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures including polymerase chain reaction, gel electrophoresis, protein purification, immunoblotting, immunofluorescence assays, confocal microscopy and cell culture; maintains and oversees a mouse breeding colony; collects and processes mouse tissue and DNA samples; tests and evaluates current procedures; records, consolidates and assists with analysis of research results; summarizes data for inclusion in grant proposals and manuscripts; assists principal investigator with the preparation of publications, posters, and abstracts; researches current scientific literature on specified topics; oversees and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities; assists with training of undergraduate students in research methods and equipment operation; maintains and operates various laboratory equipment; assists with ordering, stocking and maintenance of research supplies. Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Level Degree in a biological/health science major or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.; ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required.
