Description
This role supports the full lifecycle of high-performance and scientific computing environments, focusing on infrastructure deployment, system administration, and operational support. Key responsibilities include managing compute and storage systems (CPU/GPU, DELL, NVIDIA), implementing security protocols (fail2ban, iptables), and maintaining high-speed networking (Infiniband, 100-GbE). The position involves scheduler optimization (SLURM, Grid Engine), data transport (SSH, Globus), and performance monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana). Additional duties include user workstation management, software environment management, user support for scientific applications (Matlab, Python, R, Neuroimaging tools), and enforcing operational policies to ensure system integrity and efficiency. Experience with Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu) and grant-supported hardware deployments (NIH S10, NSF CC*) is fundamental to the role. Ability to take responsibility for complex technical tasks with industry standards and ensure all aspects of computing environment is at 100% operation 24x7.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- Or In lieu of education on a 1-1 ration i.e. one year of relevant work experience equal one year of required education
Minimum Work Experience
- 5 years, Experience in application support and Enterprise solutions. (Required)

Functional Accountabilities
- Manage all aspects of deployment projects and work closely with the internal teams on status, issues and communications.
- Define business specifications with the Children's National user community for the global deployment of the application.
- Define and drive business specifications for product and component integration points. Map standard application functionality to global/local business specifications.
- Manage product gaps from business specifications to product enhancement requests with vendors and/or business process change.
- Manage product setup definition and configuration along with Children's National business process teams.
- Manage all aspect of product rollout and coordination with internal teams.
- Define specifications for data migration from legacy systems into newer applications.
- Define specifications for data interfaces between applications for product rollouts.
- Manage user acceptance testing
- Provide technical support for implemented applications; diagnosing and reporting defects, applying patches and upgrades as needed.
- Coordinate with functional departments involved to collect system specifications, techniques, and controls.
- Interact with senior management within the department and business units.
