The Network Engineer I will be a critical contributor within the IT team, reporting to the Network Operations Manager, Terminal Division, and working under the broader direction of the VP of Network Operations. This role focuses on the deployment, support, and lifecycle management of Cisco-based enterprise networks across our Retail and Terminal environments, with a strong emphasis on network security and operational technology (OT) controls in our Terminal environments. - Responsible for the maintenance effort for Global Partners; Engineer, administer, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain complex IP networks (LAN, WAN, wireless and VoIP) that include MPLS, SIP, firewalls, VPN's, routers, Cisco WLC, wireless access points, 3G/4G data network, and ethernet switches.
- Assist in modifying network designs and architectures to ensure PCI and SOX compliance.
- With the Network Operations Manager direction, configure and maintain routers, and switches, for the Enterprise network systems (including wireless and VoIP).
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise.
- Observes and evaluates the operation of the Global network and servers including monitoring network traffic and recommending upgrades. Examples of activities to support this include monitoring and recording networked port use, monitoring, and recording network bandwidth utilization, and monitoring and reporting on wireless network usage.
- Assists the network team with Strategic application support in a collaborative effort with other IT service organizations. This includes but is not limited to installations, configurations, and operation of applications requiring network- based services, network-based security controls specific to firewall rules, network port management, and Internet connectivity.
- Provides answers and support for questions from Global Partners end users of network services via call center.
- Supports network staff in troubleshooting network users' complex connectivity problems.
- Provides assistance to Global Partners computer users with data transfer utilizing the corporate centralized network servers.
- Assists the Network Operations Manager with various other projects as assigned.

- Ability to travel 15% - 25% of the time mostly within the New England area but may infrequently include other regions in the Northeast United States.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Cisco Certified Network Associate- CCNA is highly desirable
- Cisco Certified Network Professional- CCNP is desirable
- You have outstanding customer service skills.
- You have excellent organizational skills.
- You have excellent communication skills written and verbal.
- You have strong Microsoft Office Skills: Visio, Word, Excel.
- You are a problem-solver and can find technology workarounds to issues that cannot be resolved in a timely manner.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, Linux and the networking aspects and operating systems of Windows, Macintosh, and Linux environments.
- Advanced technical understanding of TCP/IP networks and server hardware and software and the ability to recognize and solve complex technical problems.
- Experience working within most business-critical networks (prefer 500+ computer users) with the practice of installing, supporting, and administering network services and Internet connectivity through various (OSI LAYER 1) media (i.e., ethernet, fiber, and wireless).
- Experience participating within project teams; responding to pre-set project goals and objectives, assisting team members with assignments, and reporting on outcome and completion.
- Previous experience in customer support, network administration, or another IT technology related area.
- Experience with administering and managing Cisco Firepower Firewalls is desirable.
- Experience with administering and managing SolarWinds is desirable.
- Experience with administering and managing Cisco WLC is desirable.
- Experience in a secure enterprise networking environment is desirable
- Working knowledge of Help Desk ticketing systems
- Working knowledge of network vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus or NMAP
- IPSEC VPN deployment
- Network troubleshooting tools such as Ethereal/Wireshark, Command line (traceroute, tcpdump, etc..), or Network General Sniffer
- Able to assist in deploy, manage, and administer the following:
- WAN technologies such as MPLS, BGP, 3G/4G *
- Cisco switches
- Cisco routers
- Cisco Firepower Threat Defense
- Cisco RF Wireless
- Cisco Wireless Lan Controller
- NMS System management (SNMP)
- Telecommunications infrastructure that includes Avaya Definity VOIP and SIP
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
