Responsibilities

ECS is offering an opportunity for an experienced Structural Project Manager/ Engineer to join our Mid-Atlantic Facilities team in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you'll lead projects involving forensic investigation, repair & rehabilitation design, and non-destructive testing services for existing structures. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality consulting solutions across a variety of facilities and clients.   • Conduct forensic investigations and repair design for existing structures.
  • Lead the setup and execution of multiple concurrent projects, assigning appropriate staff and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Perform and oversee field and lab testing methods such as GPR, anchor pull testing, bond testing, sounding, and half-cell corrosion potential.
  • Guide sample collection (concrete, masonry, steel, wood) and ensure adherence to proper techniques and standards.
  • Interpret federal, state, and local building codes and apply them effectively to project findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare technical reports and proposals with minimal oversight; present findings to clients in meetings or calls.
  • Coordinate with field staff to direct work activities, including structural assessments, testing, design, and construction administration.
  • Review calculations, RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, invoicing, and track potential changes to scope.
  • Mentor junior staff and support their development through coaching and oversight.
  • Foster a safety-first culture by promoting the proper use of PPE and safe work practices on all job sites.

Qualifications



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture (from a NAAB-accredited program), Engineering, Building Science, or a related field (ABET-accredited)
  • 2+ years of relevant repair/forensic experience with PE license or 4+ years of relevant repair/forensic experience without a license
  • EIT or PE license preferred
