CLA is growing and seeking to hire an experienced Senior Database Developer to join our talented Information Technology team. The position offers growth, flexibility and a collaborative work environment. In this position you should have the following; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels. Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment. Most important, demonstrate a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. We are seeking a skilled SQL Developer/DBA to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for 75% database development and 25% DBA work, ensuring our databases are secure, reliable, and efficient. As a SQL Developer/DBA, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our databases and ensuring that they meet our company's standards. How you'll create opportunities in this Senior Database Developer role:
- Develop, design, and maintain complex SQL Server databases, including designing and implementing schemas, tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
- Create and optimize complex SQL queries, including the ability to write complex stored procedures and functions.
- Manage database security and access control, including developing and implementing security policies and procedures, performing database backups, and implementing disaster recovery plans.
- Identify and troubleshoot database issues and performance problems, including analyzing database performance metrics, diagnosing problems, and tuning databases to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with software developers and other stakeholders to ensure that databases meet their needs and requirements.
- Work with database vendors to stay up-to-date with new technologies, features, and trends.
- Document database design, data flow, dependencies, and integrations for support
- Analyze data and identify performance related gaps and provide solutions wherever applicable
- Develop monitoring plans for proactive support of databases both on-prem and in the cloud
- Create, document and support disaster recovery planning and procedure development
- Develop, design, and maintain complex SQL Server databases, including designing and implementing schemas, tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
What you will need:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in SQL Server development on the Azure Cloud platform.
- Strong proficiency in SQL Server development tools, including SQL Server Management Studio, Azure Data Studio, and Azure SQL Database.
- Experience in Azure Cloud platform features such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, and Cosmos.
- Experience with database security, backup, and recovery procedures.
- Familiarity with database security, backup, and recovery procedures in the Azure Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of T-SQL programming, database design, and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Ability to write complex stored procedures, functions, and SQL queries.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's Degree or experience acceptable in lieu of bachelor's degree.
