DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role entails overseeing all operations, procedures, and staff within the detention barn, where urine and blood samples are collected for both pre-race and post-race examinations of horses. The Veterinarian in this position plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of the equine athletes by administering necessary medications and treatments as required. This includes monitoring the horses' conditions closely and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards during the sampling process. The Veterinarian must also maintain accurate records of all medical interventions and sample collections, collaborating with other team members to uphold the integrity of the racing process and the well-being of the horses involved. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Part-time (per diem) employment.
- Work schedule may vary and is vendor controlled and determined by the racing schedule.
- Work hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: This position is per diem; the daily rate of pay is $400.00.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Medical Doctor program.
Special Requirement:
- Possession of a valid license to practice veterinary medicine as issued by a State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.
Post Employment Requirement:
- If the employee is not licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Pennsylvania, he/she must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within twelve (12) months of being hired.
- Possession of a Commission Employee License
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
