MOOG Space and Defense Group is a proven provider of high performance and reliable space-rated avionics hardware and software. Products include control and data handling, power distribution, payload interface cards, mass memory, GPS receivers, motor and actuation drivers and controllers, and onboard computing. MOOG has partnered with NASA to provide electronic solutions for the Artemis Orion Crew Capsule, Viper Lunar Rover, Satellite Laser Communications Relay, OSIRIS-REX to study asteroid composition along with complete satellite buses for the defense department. MOOG Space and Defense Group is seeking Test Equipment Systems Engineer.

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and Sustainment of hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo-mechanism, and electro-pneumatic components and systems that are used to test the products of Moog, Inc.

You will lead continuous improvement efforts of existing test equipment, and calibration processes to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals. You will contribute to the Sustainment of test equipment to verify functional performance of products used on military, commercial, and space vehicles. You will independently devise new approaches for problems encountered.

To be considered forTest Equipment Sustainment Systems Engineer, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with 5+ years' relevant technical experience or Advanced Degree in Engineering with 2+ years' relevant technical experience.
  • Demonstrated strong technical written and verbal communication skills.

As aTest Equipment Sustainment Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Work closely with the internal program teams to troubleshoot and maintain specialized test equipment.
  • Review calibration test procedures and data sheets to be used on Moog designed and commercial test equipment and make recommendations for their revision.
  • Review existing test equipment designs and recommend changes as required to improve calibration, maintenance and reliability.
  • Generate preventive maintenance plans and strategies on high value test equipment.
  • Lead system level obsolescence reviews and recommend spare parts and replacement plans.
  • Become the Subject Matter Expert on test equipment used within a critical program, monitoring the productivity throughout that work center and leading process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Work with MATLAB/Simulink to understand, use, and modify system models to predict system performance and identify physical issues.
  • Perform hardware correlation, system integration and verification testing.
  • Support the assembly and verification of new or repaired test equipment.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $90,000.00-$120,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
