Responsibilities and Expectations:

IPS is seeking an Outside Sales Representative who is responsible for growing a regional territory by developing new business, reactivating dormant accounts, and expanding industrial customer relationships in a hunter-focused role. This position requires strong industrial sales experience, a consultative approach to identifying needs, and the ability to sell technical solutions with internal support for pricing and service.

Assesses competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends, identifying sales opportunities

  • Conduct regular in-person customer visits to develop relationships and grow territory sales
  • Prospect new business through cold outreach and field engagement
  • Re-engage dormant accounts and existing customer relationships
  • Develop and execute territory and account plans to drive pipeline growth
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and technical experts to support solution development and quoting
  • Manage pipeline activity, including follow-ups, CRM updates, and scheduling
  • Maintain awareness of pricing, availability, and service capabilities
  • Build long-term customer relationships that drive repeat business and growth

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Minimum of 2+ years outside sales experience required
  • Strong background in industrial or technical sales required
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in customer-facing environments required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers and decision makers required
  • Experience with cold calling, field prospecting, and territory management required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role while collaborating with internal teams
  • Comfortable working in a competitive market with established industry players
  • High level of professionalism and ethical business conduct
