Our Test Systems team in the Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join them. This hybrid role reports to the Systems Engineer Section Head.

Moog Military Aircraft (MMA) offers integrated flight control solutions, actuation control systems, and product-based solutions for much of the aircraft market in the US and globally. The East Aurora, NY Test Systems team designs, builds and verifies test equipment used to verify these flight control systems and components.

The Senior Systems Engineer - Test Systems position will lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team through specification, analysis, conceptual design, development, integration and verification of test equipment to verify Moog products.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Lead systematic capture, development, and documentation of Customer requirements into a total test system solution.
  • Operate within program technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform architecture analysis, design trade studies, and develop ICDs.
  • Translate use cases into hardware and software specifications.
  • Effectively communicate with Customer and internal design team.
  • Create integration checklists and verification plans.
  • Create system interconnect and signal map documentation.
  • Support development of procedures for system calibration and verification.
  • Validate conceptual designs through modeling and system analyses.
  • Lead system-level integration and test, including system anomaly investigations.
  • Ensure test system designs comply with performance and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with technical team leads, make system level architecture decisions, and be a key contributor to proposal cost and technical volumes.
  • Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports.
  • Operate within a team of creative, independent individuals.

To be considered for this role, you typically will bring:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Software or Systems Engineering. Master of Science degree is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of engineering experience, with 4+ years leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams; demonstrate a proven record of success.
  • Experience with test equipment requirements development, design, modelling, analysis, integration, and verification.

It would be great if you also had experience with:

  • Test equipment hardware and software design
  • Full life-cycle product development, proposal to deployment
  • dSPACE or National Instruments real-time systems
  • MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape or Amesim software
  • Electro-hydraulic or electro-mechanical servo-mechanisms
  • Closed-loop control systems/theory
  • IBM Rational DOORS
  • MBSE/SysML

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $120,000.00-$145,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
