Summary
Responsible for assisting with direct patient care activities in a variety of Cath Lab procedures. Prepares and stocks the Cath Lab before and after procedures, gathers clean and sterile supplies, sets sterile instrument fields, maintains and monitors aseptic techniques. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Assists the cardiologist in all surgical and diagnostic procedures. -Attends to patient needs during cardiac lab procedures. -Attends to patient needs during cardiac lab procedures. -Recognizes and interprets arrhythmias and heart block abnormalities. -Tests tissue according to what the pathologist needs. -Describe the indications for electrophysiologic testing, permanent pacemaker -Operates the radiographic equipment utilizing radiation safety procedures -Protects healthcare organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches. Education Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support [ACLS (AHA)] - American Heart Association (AHA) preferred Registered Technologist [ARRT-R] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] preferred Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist [RCIS] - Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred Physical Requirements
