While reporting to the Senior Production Planner as the Warehouse Shipping Supervisor you will be responsible for supervising the plant warehouse functions as directed. What you'll be doing:
Complies with established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment. Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This includes correcting unsafe acts/conditions, participating in safety meetings, performing safety inspections, and investigating accidents, as required. Supports and follows the SQF (Safe Quality Food) guidelines of the food safety system. Follows company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), practices and Sonoco's Global Code of Conduct. Supervises and coordinates the employees and activities of the plant warehouse function (and local outside warehouse, if applicable) as directed. Maintains direct support to all departments in the plant via material handling. Facilitates the transportation of inbound and outbound shipments of products and materials. Reviews completed drayage tickets and bills of lading for completeness and accuracy prior to distribution. Facilitates shipments of finished product and scrap. Maintains and reports inventory status of finished goods and packaging materials. Responsible for inventory accuracy and coordinates annual physical inventory. Oversees ordering, storage, and use of goods to maintain optimal stock levels, minimize costs, and improve efficiency. Analyzes and solves complex issues related to warehouse operations. Coordinates customer releases and orders with outside warehouse and other plants within the group and assists in procuring transportation for customer and warehouse of finished products. May enter shipping releases into the MFG PRO system. Ensures that all fork trucks are properly maintained. Facilitates training for direct reports. Initiates and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility. Manges FIFO for shipments and consumption. Reviews and updates reports. Other duties as assigned.

Proficient in implementing 5S principles for efficient workplace organization and process optimization. Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college degree level of education or work- related experience. Ability to wear appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices. <15% of travel
Compensation: The annual base salary range for this role is from $79,040 to $88,920, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary. #LI-RM1
