The Optics Operations team's vision is to enable world-class Optics Supply Chain Operations to service the Optics component needs of Cisco and emerging Components businesses. Our exciting team works in a fast-paced, start-up-type environment and is on a mission to scale Cisco's Optics business.

We are looking for a Reliability Manager who will lead and expand a team of top-tier Optics Technologists, Reliability and Failure Analysis Engineers, and Quality professionals to enable the growth of the Optics components business by delivering world-class products.

This role is critical in driving product reliability from design to production, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Your Impact

We seek an accomplished leader who will establish a culture of reliability excellence and motivate organizational change to deliver outstanding product reliability.

  • Partner with multi-functional teams to drive product quality and reliability of Optical components to meet customer expectations.
  • Develop capabilities and an ecosystem to complete product qualification of Optics components.
  • Manage comprehensive reliability programs, including ORM and ORT, for optical transceivers focusing on performance under varied operational and environmental conditions.
  • Lead the assessment of the reliability of novel and advanced Optics and Package technologies including predictive modeling for product life expectancy.
  • Establish and maintain reliability testing methodologies, procedures, and metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as Telcordia GR-468, JEDEC, and other optical communication standards.
  • Partner with Product Development to deliver Advanced Networking Optics that set the bar for best-in-class reliability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, materials science, computer or optical engineering or related field with 12 + years of optical and semiconductor component reliability or Master's degree with 8 + years of experience.
  • Experience in new product development in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with executing product qualifications to Telcordia, JEDEC, and Military Standards.
  • Experience with failure and root cause analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • You are a highly organized, reliability professional with a technical background in Optical Transceivers, Optical Active and Passive Components, Semiconductor IC Engineering, and relevant skills.
  • Experience managing teams including providing coaching and mentorship on job performance and career development and adept at developing and nurturing a global, diverse, and inclusive team environment.
  • Experience with Coherent Optical Communications Technology and Silicon Photonics.
  • Ability to define and meet quality processes and metrics that ensure customer satisfaction while supporting product cost and delivery.
  • An effective cross-functional communicator who values partnership and collaboration and has experience addressing executive-level staff - both internal and customer-facing
  • Thrive under uncertainty and demonstrate the ability to handle sensitive situations in an effective and constructive manner.
