Your Role on the Team Position Summary: Under the direction of the Sr. Supervisor of Support Services, provides support, assistance, and analysis of all aspects of the outside lab testing area of the laboratory, including monthly utilization reports, cost analysis of reference lab pricing, monthly outside lab reimbursement statistical reports and reconciling of invoicing. This employee plans, organizes, coordinates, implements and evaluates send-out training for new and current employees. Establishes monitors and maintains reference lab accounts, including verification of licensure, reviewing lab pricing, updating special procedures (infectious sample transport) and maintaining contact with reference lab representatives. Working in Support Services as an operational lead for hospital lab assistants/ phlebotomists regarding send-out issues and serves as a primary external customer services link as well as the technical resource to all laboratory staff for outside lab testing. Works with multiple divisions, medical center departments, and faculty and staff to provide knowledge of send-out procedures and policies, and provides administrative support to the director including preparing send out statistical information. Monitors and troubleshoots courier activities and lab staff specimen processing activities, and relays information to supervisors. Conducts data analysis related to all send-out issues, presenting recommendations for the implementation of new tests in the Pathology Department from that analysis.
