DESCRIPTION

The Design Lab Operations Coordinator participates in evaluating daily functions of Lab and makes recommendations to streamline processes, and provides project management support. Serves as the IT liaison on all technical support matters, including coordinating internal resource site maintenance on a continuing basis. Coordinates all aspects of Design Lab high-level special events, including logistical details and cooperation with offices of special guests and visiting dignitaries, from inception to completion. Assists operations team by researching and resolving various financial issues, as needed. Other duties within scope of description.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduation from college and two (2) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Academic experience in an interdisciplinary field preferred.

  • Experience managing and coordinating events ranging from retreats, workshops, large and small conferences.

  • Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.

  • Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Proven ability to function effectively and collegially in a diverse, ever-changing, and unpredictable environment. Ability to manage crisis situations and manage multiple priorities.

  • Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.

  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.

  • Demonstrated planning and analytical skills. Skill to analyze large quantities of data (financial, space, workload) and in identifying objectives and constraints, and developing effective recommendations and implementing them.

  • Demonstrated ability in working effectively in an international and multicultural setting. Ability to interact professionally with national and international guests from the private and public sectors. Excellent diplomacy and tact needed to work with a diverse group at all levels of the organization.

  • Understanding of issues working within a complex higher education organization and the ability to act within UC policies.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Overtime may be required. Must be willing and able to travel.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $68,382 - $105,695 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.75 - $50.62

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
