The Opportunity

The International Student Engagement & Content Coordinator plays a key role in supporting international students at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University by building community, increasing visibility of international initiatives, and helping students navigate life in the U.S. Reporting to the Director of International Student Engagement & Outreach, this position blends student-facing support with the development of engaging digital and print media to promote programs, events, and resources. As part of the Center for International Education, the Coordinator will attend and support international student programs, collaborate with student leaders and campus partners, and help ensure that international students are informed and connected. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, student-centered professional interested in cultural engagement, content creation, and inclusive programming.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a welcoming presence for international students and assist them in navigating campus life, university systems, and cultural adjustment;
  • Attend and support major international student events, including setup, promotion, and student engagement;
  • Maintain a social media calendar and develop and post content across social media platforms (e.g. Instagram and YouTube) to promote events and highlight student stories;
  • Capture photo and video content at events for use in newsletters, reports, and digital signage;
  • Design flyers, posters, and other promotional materials using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud;
  • Coordinate the department's seasonal outreach around tax filing obligations for international students, in collaboration with Payroll and other campus partners;
  • Support the creation and maintenance of instructional videos and digital student resources;
  • Collaborate with student organizations and graduate assistants on content ideas and community initiatives;
  • Assist in monitoring the departmental inbox, responding to general inquiries, and managing RSVPs and event calendars;
  • Contribute to assessment efforts by gathering feedback, tracking media engagement, and organizing visual documentation
  • Provide backup support for website edits and content updates under the direction of the Director.

Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (preferred fields include communication, higher education, international studies, student affairs, or a related field)
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in student support, event planning, or content creation; experience may include work through student organizations, internships, or graduate assistantships

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
  • Familiarity with international student experiences and/or working with diverse student populations
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms for outreach and storytelling (e.g. Instagram, YouTube)
  • Basic graphic design ability using Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Comfort with photography/videography using mobile devices and digital cameras
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to plan, promote, and support in-person programs and events.
  • Event planning and/or student engagement experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting international students or working in higher education
  • Familiarity with basic video editing tools (e.g. Canva, iMovie)
  • Event planning or student engagement experience
  • Knowledge of FERPA, non-resident tax basics or university systems is helpful but not required.
