OverviewThere has never been a more exciting time to be working in healthcare at Microsoft. Our Health & Life Sciences Solutions organization is an interdisciplinary team of product managers, designers, engineers, and clinicians who are designing, developing and deploying next-generation healthcare solutions powered by the Microsoft Cloud for healthcare organizations around the world. The Business Strategy Manager-Healthcare role will sit on the newly formed Chief Operating Office (COO) team in the HLS organization, reporting to the Lead of the Portfolio Management & Business Acceleration. The COO team is tasked with preparing HLS for its next wave of growth and scale, delivering on operational excellence and financial integrity. In this role, you would drive the Business Acceleration scope, sitting at the intersection of strategy and operations to drive the health and performance of the HLS business. You would be tasked facilitate strategic initiatives cross-functionally, to ensure attainment of cloud growth objectives. You will serve as a connection point to Finance, identifying risk areas and mitigating tactics, and opportunities to accelerate revenue We are looking for a Business Strategy Manager to join our team. Success in this role will require taking an analytical, resourceful, and organized approach to all problem solving, coupled with an ability to influence and successfully navigate through interpersonal dynamics. You will serve as a connection point across the entire portfolio, and as the connector from the team to internal and external partners, communicating insights in briefs, presentations or other medium to senior leaders to ensure a common awareness of the current landscape. ResponsibilitiesResearch, Analysis & FramingConducts market-based research by collecting and interpreting information (e.g., financial statements, reports, analyses, stakeholder feedback) including researching existing business and identifying new spaces for MicrosoftConducts analyses (e.g., financial modeling) and leverages analyses of others to synthesize solutions to key business problemsCreates initial framing for strategic questions with limited input and delivers structured output from analysesCreates & distributes frameworks and methodologies to drive problem solving and insights across the teamDevelops a deep understanding of the HLS product portfolio, strategic priorities, product position gaps, and potential opportunitiesExecution of business processes which rely on aggregation, summarization, and reporting of data from various sources Financial ModelingDevelops a financial modeling framework to inform potential partner deal terms, identify divestiture value & costs, and define the latent value of existing assetsSupports evaluation of Microsoft strategic alternatives (e.g., buy, build, partner), including evaluating Independent Service Providers (ISVs) of interest and other acquisition alternativesReviews and provides guidance to finance teams in developing and refining financial forecasts and related analysesProvides perspective on targets including prospects, price expectations, returns, alternatives, potential interlopers, and key decision makersProblem Solving & InsightsSynthesizes findings into insights across projects, including implications that inform business decisions, leveraging executive presence to influence decisions and proactively identifying expansive ideas for company strategy, often missed by othersStructures ambiguous situations into a defined project, including identification root causes, testing of hypothesis, and proposal & implementation propose and implement of solutionsEvaluates current state business operations to identify issues limiting growth, and develop solutions to remove barriers for scaleLeverages insights to develop recommendations and seeks to provide thought leadership (e.g., trend identification, implications of competitor moves) around potential future growth opportunities and strategic issues for HLSCommunicationCommunicates and advocates insights to senior business leaders (e.g., CVPs, VPs, Directors) and conveys viewpoints through written documents (e.g., memos, reports) and influence models (e.g., meetings, presentations)Builds end-to-end storylines with limited directions, leveraging data to demonstrate measurable outcomes of workDelivers project findings recommendations, and implications to senior executives to facilitate senior discussions and decision makingStakeholder ManagementEstablishes and maintains key points of contact with internal teams from Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Corporate Development, and Corporate StrategyContributes to large Strategy projects and manages small projects with guidance from directors as needed, leveraging team resources and less experienced colleaguesEmbody our culture and values. |
