Overview
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of complex engineering projects, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with organizational goals.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on best practices, technical skills development, and career growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and quality assurance, to define project specifications and requirements.
- Oversee the implementation of engineering solutions, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Perform rigorous testing and validation of engineering designs to identify and rectify potential issues before full-scale production.
- Manage the documentation process for engineering projects, ensuring all necessary materials are accurately produced and maintained for future reference and compliance.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies or methodologies to improve efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness of engineering processes.
- Represent the engineering department in external forums, such as conferences, workshops, or industry panels, to share insights and learn from peers.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher degree in Engineering, Math, Physical Sciences, or other STEM majors
- Active Secret clearance
- U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
- Ten years of collective engineering experience in signature measurements, data acquisition, reduction, analysis, and experimentation
- Eight years of collective technical experience in each of the following areas:
o Shipboard or fixed-site signature measurement systems development, sustainment, operations, and upgrades o Technical analysis experience in support of development and application of ship signature reduction or measurement technology o Signature measurement system functional requirements, testing, validation and certification - IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)
- Programming skills (RedHat, Java, SQL)
Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $91,600.00/Yr. - USD $153,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
