About The Position | Major Goals and Objectives and Location Requirements

The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for managing the preparation of People Inc. financial statements for internal and external reporting purposes and ensuring compliance with GAAP, company policies, professional standards, and SEC rules and regulations.

In this position you will:

  • Manage the preparation of external financial reports, which are filed quarterly on Form 8-K.

  • Create and maintain our reporting calendar to inform parties of necessary deadlines monthly and quarterly.

  • Prepare footnote disclosures in the external financial statements.

  • Prepare fluctuation analysis commentary.

  • Prepare quarterly debt compliance calculations.

  • Review data gathered throughout the organization to ensure completeness and accuracy for reporting purposes.

  • Research technical accounting issues as needed.

  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial requests from external parties.

  • Maintain reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements.

  • Provide direct support on various special projects.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Schedule Requirements:

Hybrid 3x a week - (Des Moines, IA)

This position follows a hybrid schedule, with in-office work required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and the option to work remotely up to two days per week (Mondays and Fridays).

The financial reporting team is located in Des Moines, Iowa, and sits within the Controllership organization. About The Position's Contributions:

Weight % Accountabilities, Actions, and Expected Measurable Results

  • 40% Preparation, management, and support of the external reporting process.
  • 35% Collection and review of data gathered within the organization for quarterly and annual requirements.
  • 15% Special projects and duties as assigned.
  • 10% Preparation of internal and external data requests.

Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting.

Experience:
4+ years of financial accounting experience with Big 4 or national public accounting firm and/or industry experience; CPA license and SEC experience are a plus.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • An excellent knowledge of US GAAP is required combined with the ability to research and propose company positions on complex accounting issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team environment across multiple senior levels of management.
