Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Takeoff Technician to join our estimating team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing material quantity takeoffs from architectural, structural, and civil drawings to support accurate project bids and cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and related documents to perform accurate material and quantity takeoffs.

  • Use takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff, AutoCAD, Revit) to quantify materials and build scopes.

  • Work closely with estimators and project managers to ensure takeoff data aligns with bid requirements.

  • Prepare detailed reports and spreadsheets summarizing quantities and materials.

  • Identify discrepancies or omissions in drawings and communicate findings.

  • Assist in organizing and maintaining takeoff and estimating documentation.

  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and bid reviews as needed.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 1-3 years of experience in construction takeoffs, estimating, or related field preferred.

  • Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu, OST, Excel).

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills (Not Required):
  • Experience with BIM tools (e.g., Revit).

  • Knowledge of CSI MasterFormat divisions.

  • Experience in commercial, residential, or civil construction projects.
