We are hiring for a Loss Mitigation Specialist for a large mortgage company in San Diego. Great opportunity to help borrowers navigate financial hardship and avoid foreclosure, we are looking for candidates versed in the financial services industry.
*Job Duties:* * Evaluate borrower hardship applications and determine eligibility for loss mitigation options (e.g., loan modifications, forbearance, repayment plans, short sales, deeds in lieu). * Communicate with borrowers, attorneys, and third-party vendors to gather documentation and provide updates. * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and investor guidelines (e.g., CFPB, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA). * Maintain accurate records in servicing systems and document all borrower interactions. * Collaborate with internal departments such as collections, foreclosure, and underwriting to ensure timely resolution. * Recommend appropriate workout solutions based on borrower financials and investor guidelines. * Monitor pipeline to ensure timely processing and adherence to SLAs. *Qualifications:* * High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Finance, Business Administration) preferred. * 2 years experience in mortgage servicing, loss mitigation, or loan workout processing strongly preferred. * Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines including CFPB, FHA, and other investor/insurer requirements * Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in document review and reconciliation. * Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, reconcile, and resolve complex issues. * Effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence. * High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $23.16 - $23.16/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
