In support of this vision, CPS seeks an outstanding and motivated professional who can move prospects from interest into action to join our team as the Associate Director, Recruitment and Admissions.

About This Role:
You'll play a central role in driving enrollment growth by managing the complete student journey from initial interest through enrollment. This position combines strategic recruitment planning, admissions decision-making, relationship building, and data analysis to create seamless experiences for prospective students.

You'll represent the university both on campus and off campus at in-person and live information sessions for prospective students, social gatherings, and conferences. You'll work directly with prospects and organizations to speak informatively about your assigned programs, program application and admission requirements, and the value of an education from the George Washington University College of Professional Studies.

Core Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Outreach

  • Execute strategic recruitment initiatives, including event management and conference participation
  • Represent the university at information sessions, social gatherings, and recruiting events
  • Travel occasionally for recruiting events (frequency to be determined based on program needs)


Admissions Review & Decision Support

  • Analyze recruitment data using CRM tools to evaluate enrollment trends and improve recruitment strategies
  • Evaluate applications holistically and make recommendations for admissions decisions
  • Determine eligibility for special admissions programs and present recommendations to final review authority
  • Work in conjunction with program faculty on admissions decisions

Student Experience & Process Management

  • Guide students through the admissions process, including informing them of application requirements
  • Connect students to appropriate resources for financial aid and other inquiries
  • Provide a student-centered experience at all touchpoints
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally with faculty Program Directors, marketing, enrollment and data teams
  • Partner with external strategic partners to ensure optimized prospect experiences

Strategic Planning & Analysis

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of recruitment strategies
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of admissions and recruitment initiatives
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned

This is a hybrid position with some days in the office in Washington, DC or northern Virginia and some days remote. There will be some required in-person meetings in Washington, DC, as well as travel for recruiting events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Experience and Skills: To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate will bring a blend of the following strengths and experiences:

  • A demonstrated ability to significantly increase application and enrollment numbers for academic programs
  • Passion for and highly skilled in delivering compelling presentations or communications that inspire action
  • Skilled in consultative sales and sales techniques
  • Ability to create or oversee the creation of effective communications that drive action
  • Planning effective events and conference sponsorship involvement
  • 5-10 years of experience, preferably in professional sales, with an understanding of data and analytics, along with some marketing acumen
  • Experience with Slate or other CRM software to analyze enrollment trends, manage the application process, and improve communication with prospective students
  • Strong interest in adult learners, career changers, and promoting higher education

Hiring Range $64,483.58 - $106,415.52
