We're looking to hire a talented General Manager to drive growth for our Repair & Maintenance Business throughout North America.

Reporting to the Vice President, Sales & Marketing for North America and based out of one of our sites in either Hanover, PA; Denton, TX; or North Bethesda, MD, the GM, Repair & Maintenance Business - NAM will play a critical role in leading the R&M business by developing and driving transformational growth for the product line of Stoody and ESAB Filler Metals in the North America market.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for full P&L ownership, driving a turnaround strategy, simplifying operations, and delivering sustainable growth. This leader will oversee cross-functional activities spanning sales, engineering, product management, and operations while aligning with global product and R&D teams.

The successful candidate must be a dynamic, high-energy, positive and competitive individual with a strong desire to win.

Primary Duties

  • Own the full P&L responsibility, ensuring financial performance aligns with ESAB's strategic goals
  • Develop and execute transformational change plans simplify operations and unlock market growth potential
  • Collaborate with global and regional leaders to align strategy with global initiatives in R&M
  • Expand the R&M footprint across local and global manufacturing plants, leveraging facilities in India, Brazil, and Europe
  • Lead product roadmap and NPI execution - including hard facing filler metals and workflow-oriented innovations
  • Strengthen technical content: Support product development with performance data, wear and corrosion testing, and other value-added insights
  • Coordinate with global R&D colleagues to integrate R&M capabilities and build a robust R&D and technical collaboration forum
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market benchmarking to position Stoody & ESAB products effectively against major competitors
  • Engage regularly with strategic accounts across Mining, Steel, Cement, Oil & Gas, Agriculture, Sugar, and Pulp & Paper
  • Develop application-specific workflow catalogs and tools (Filler Metals + Equipment + Robotic + Digital) to serve key industries
  • Lead and support large project quotations
  • Build and lead a high-performing team including sales specialists, product managers, technical support engineers
  • Develop robust training materials, programs and tools to support commercial teams with application knowledge and Filler Metals selection tools
  • Collaborate with the R&M Global Product Manager and R&D to consolidate performance reporting and margin analysis
  • Oversee sourcing transitions, cored wire strategies and lead time improvements
  • Improve inventory management and cost control by driving alignment with global supply and sourcing teams
  • Turnaround progress and YoY revenue and margin improvement
  • NPI execution rate and portfolio simplification impact
  • Customer satisfaction and engagement from key industry segments
  • Supply chain efficiency: OTS, lead time, and cost reduction
  • Sales team enablement: Training completion, adoption of tools, and regional engagement
  • Regional and global alignment on product and sourcing strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Business Administration or related field required. Master's, relevant advanced degree and/or MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of leadership experience, preferably within the welding, industrial or manufacturing sectors
  • Demonstrated success in leadership in driving sales and operations excellence
  • Progressive Marketing experience with proven success in expanding market presence and creating and implementing successful marketing initiatives.
  • Proven experience in leading a full P&L business, preferably in industrial or manufacturing segments
  • Deep knowledge of welding, hard facing, or metalworking applications is strongly preferred
  • Strong strategic thinking, operational execution, and change leadership capabilities
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to engage customers and represent ESAB at the highest level
  • Track record in developing high-performing teams and driving cross-functional collaboration
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically are essential
  • Strong financial skills with the ability to analyze potential development opportunities and trends are essential
  • Experience managing pricing processes with cross-functional partners
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in market analysis, segmentation and competitive intelligence
  • Leads with compassion and empathy to build a culture of ownership and accountability
  • Empathetic leader with the demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 50% required (domestic and international travel expected)

Working Conditions

  • Works and visits industrial manufacturing sites with exposure to noise, machinery and varying temperatures
  • Requires additional physical demands such as sitting, standing ascending/descending stairs, walking, squatting and stooping
  • Must follow onsite Personal Protective Equipment PPE requirements
