The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: The EKG Technician performs non-invasive cardiac testing inclusive of ECG, Holter monitoring and assistance with stress testing; provides physicians with data for use in diagnosing cardiac abnormalities; participates in unit quality improvement. Uses an understanding of principles of growth and development to determine each patient's age-specific needs and provides age-specific treatment. Qualifications: Required: High School diploma or equivalent BLS Successful completion of a six-month probationary training period under the guidance of a qualified preceptor Successful completion of all orientation programs BLS through the American Heart Association Preferred: Previous acute care experience Scheduling Requirements: Day Shift Per Diem Scheduling Essential Functions: Assists physicians with on-site and remote editing of EKGs as needed Processes EKG after order and demographic verification Obtains 12 lead EKGs Holtor monitoring Assistance with stress testing Performs other duties as required by the department Choosing RWJBarnabas Health!
