What you'll be doing...

You will be responsible for designing, planning, developing, documenting, and implementing virtual and physical applications, databases, and server/systems infrastructure in support of general business operations and internal and external customer's requirements. This may include maintaining hardware, software, and configurations as well as managing migrations, OS builds, and tool development. Leads production environment changes with technology operations to maintain a stable environment. Works with development to test various lab benchmarks for the purpose of determining the best technology combinations. Partners with the business and establishes direct channels with vendors to best determine and carry out requirements.

  • You will be responsible for the company's technology roadmap and strategy. This includes the acquiring, building, designing, implementing, securing, maintaining and operating of the information systems (internally and externally), platform architecture, network infrastructure, and network services.

  • The right candidate will Design, implement, maintain, and support computer and corporate information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets. Perform local network modeling, analysis, and planning. Provide direct technical support for employees. Research and recommend local network and data communications hardware and software.

What we're looking for...

Applicants with a strong track record of working with key stakeholders to determine business and technical requirements for network performance, security, reliability, scalability and sustainability. A candidate with a history of developing and presenting alternative technical solutions and associated costs, opportunities and challenges. Deep experience designing and building models and prototypes of proposed networks and assessing their feasibility and marketability.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation as a condition of employment.

  • Must be able to work onsite daily in Ashburn, VA.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in electrical engineering or computer science.

  • Experience in detailing call flows, developing interface specification, calculating system and transport forecasts, and performing capacity analysis.

  • Experience with internal and external clients to determine technical and business requirements and recommend alternative technical solutions to business initiatives and operations.

  • A track record of Architecting and designing large-scale business initiatives including platforms, systems, and network components, ensuring the requirements of the business are met.

  • Ability to design and implement FOA or other prototypes to test the viability of the solutions before moving into production.

  • Expertise developing and implementing new features and functions into the architecture as new requirements are submitted.

  • Confidence leading cross-functional teams to support the development of system architectures and alleviate upstream/downstream impact.

  • Experience as a subject matter expert regarding the latest industry Proactively manage client engagement at all client levels, technology lifecycle development, and planning and coordination with various internal/external stakeholders.
