We are seeking a Growth Engineer to join our Business Development (BD) team. This hybrid role blends analytical skills, strategic capture support, technical writing, and proposal management to help Synergy grow in the Federal market. The ideal candidate will bring a unique combination of business acumen, technical aptitude, and excellent communication skills - a true jack of all trades.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development Analysis & Pipeline Support
  • Research and analyze Federal market trends, competitive landscape, and procurement forecasts.
  • Maintain and update the BD pipeline in CRM tools, ensuring accurate opportunity tracking.
  • Identify and qualify new opportunities in target markets aligned with Synergy's capabilities.
  • Develop market intelligence reports and provide actionable insights to leadership.
Capture Support
  • Assist Capture Managers in opportunity pursuit strategies, including win theme development, stakeholder mapping, and competitive analysis.
  • Support teaming strategy, including partner identification, capability gap analysis, and NDA/Teaming Agreement coordination.
  • Prepare capture artifacts such as call plans, SWOT analyses, and capture status reports.
Technical Writing & Proposal Management
  • Draft, edit, and format technical, management, and past performance content for proposals and responses to RFIs, Sources Sought, and RFPs.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to translate technical concepts into compelling, compliant proposal language.
  • Manage proposal schedules, compliance matrices, and color review cycles.
  • Maintain a library of reusable proposal content and templates to improve efficiency and consistency.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Federal business development, capture, proposal management, or technical writing.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in market research and pipeline management tools (e.g., GovWin, SAM.gov, Salesforce).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive content.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple priorities.
Preferred:
  • Understanding of Federal procurement processes and FAR/DFARS requirements.
  • Experience supporting IT, cybersecurity, or digital transformation proposals.
  • APMP Foundation or higher certification.

Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00.

Essential Job Function Physical Requirements: The physical requirements of this position are critical in evaluating the qualifications and abilities of an applicant or employee. The physical efforts needed to perform the essential duties of this job 90% of the time are repetitive motions, grasping, holding, and finger dexterity of the hands, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, color distinction, and full visual abilities, hearing, talking, sitting, and use of IT equipment, phones, and office machines.

To a reduced degree, <30% of the time, candidates may have to stand, walk, lift 0-30 pounds, push or pull objects, climb stairs, bend, squat, reach, drive a car, or work overtime.
