EnergySolutions is currently seeking a proficient and innovative Data Scientist to join our Corporate PMO team. This role will be instrumental in the development of a team to optimize advanced data analytics solutions. This position will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate data-driven decision-making and improve our business processes. Responsibilities will include analyzing large datasets, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to enhance project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics. Additional responsibilities will include but not be limited to focus on developing and implementing effective data methodologies, participating in change management efforts, and creating comprehensive reports and visualizations for stakeholders. The expertise from this role will drive the organization's efficiency and innovation.

Position Overview

The Data Scientist working within the Corporate PMO is tasked with developing, enhancing and refining various processes associated with forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking. This role combines data science with project analytics, requiring the successful candidate to leverage expertise to drive efficiency and innovation. The successful candidate will be expected to analyze complex data sets, develop predictive models, and work closely with various departments to implement data-driven strategies that monitor the organization's performance metrics to identify areas of improvement and implement effective strategies to optimize overall efficiency and enhance overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights of project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement machine learning models and predictive algorithms.
  • Develop tools and processes to automate data collection and analysis.
  • Perform data wrangling, cleaning, and feature engineering to prepare data for analysis.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Participate in training and change management efforts to support the adoption of new digital solutions.
  • Create and present reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's and /or master's in engineering, construction management, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, data analysis, or a related role
  • Strong understanding of statistical methods and data analysis techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present complex data insights clearly
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn, collaborate, and take initiative
  • Large construction, facility, and/or transportation experience


Preferred:

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Pandas, Scikit, TensorFlow, AWS SageMaker, Google Vertex A, Python)
  • Knowledge of deep learning and natural language processing (NLP).
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Incorta, or Power BI
  • Familiarity with common project controls systems (Primavera P6, Deltek Cobra, MS Project) is a plus
