Full Pay Range: $20.50 - $33.00 hourly

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position

Do you have a knack for keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes? Can you juggle multiple priorities with ease while keeping your eye on the details? We're looking for a Justice System Clerk Senior to join our team, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

In this role, you'll manage the entire lifespan of case files, from opening, researching, and updating to closing, ensuring accuracy and timely management for our attorneys and clients. This isn't just about paperwork; it's about being a problem-solver who provides crucial support to both internal and external customers and serves as a key liaison with the Court.

This is a dynamic position where you also assist with training new employees and contribute to a highly collaborative team environment. If you are an organized multitasker with great communication skills, we want to hear from you.

Upon successful completion of initial training, this position has the option to choose among several hybrid or flexible schedule options, including the potential to work up to 5 days from home each pay period.

We Require

  • Three years of full-time progressively responsible legal, court, or justice system administrative-related experience

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Post-secondary education may substitute for up to two years of the experience requirement

We Also Value

  • Experience with electronic records or case management systems in a legal, medical, or insurance environment

  • Experience working within an indigent defense office

Job Contributions

  • Initiate, update,and edit case management records using case management systems and identify potential conflicts

  • Audit caseloads, research case weight, and resolve data transaction errors and work quality control reports

  • Interpret and enter data from sentencing reports and other complex minute entries

  • Assist customers with requests for electronic or physical records and troubleshoot any process problems

  • Sort or classify information according to established guidelines, update case files, court calendars, and case management systems

  • Create hard files, organize materials, affix labels, pull, transport, and destroy case files as needed

  • Provide new hire training, cross-training, and refresher training for employees

  • Cover Supervisors in the absence of the Justice System Clerk Lead and Justice System Clerk Supervisors

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in a legal or court office environment

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

  • Alternative or hybrid schedule options are available after the training period based on business needs
