About the Role:


The Leasing Representative role will coordinate the negotiation, analysis, drafting, interpretation and execution of all new leases, lease renewals, and lease renegotiation for the assigned territory. This position will work closely with franchisees, landlords and HQ staff to ensure that leases are handled properly and meet procedural requirements and company policies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Read, review, and analyze leases. Prepare all lease documentation for SRE directors. Handle the negotiation, review and processing of all new leases. Ensure that all necessary background approvals and paperwork are documented and incorporated into all leasing files and that all deals are accurately updated in system/files. Handle the renewal and renegotiation of all existing leases. Drafting and reviewing amendments during renegotiations. Assist store owners in renegotiating existing leases to improve terms and increase restaurant profitability. Interpretation of lease language as well as problem solving potential lease issues.
  • Work with HQ departments, Development Agents, solicitors, and property agents to ensure that leases meet company policies and procedures. Assist and answer queries from Development Agents, Franchisees, HQ departments, landlord's and franchisee's legal representation on specific and general leasing and legal matters. Act as the liaison between legal representatives, landlords, property agents, banks/accountants, etc. in regard to Subway leasing requirements. Participate in staff meetings and discussions in order to develop and align on future strategies and policies.
  • Work with Franchisees on facilitating franchisee-signed leases for new restaurant locations and relocations or negotiate new Subway leases with landlords for new or relocation sites.



Skills and abilities required:



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, and Real Estate.
  • 2- 6 years of experience in Leasing or Real Estate.
  • Negotiating skills.
  • Experience in real estate or similar background.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong Communication Skills (Verbal and Written).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to forecast possible outcomes.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a high-pressure environment.
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)

Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, qualifications, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
