POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION Project manager, with an emphasis on site supervision, who, with guidance from the VP of Engineering and Senior Engineering staff, oversees both mechanical and electrical installation, assists the Electrical Controls Engineering team with system startups, testing, debug, commissioning, and provides customer standby support. _______________________________________________________________________ SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES * Successfully plans and completes assigned projects and tasks. * Ensures coordinated efforts between Sales Engineers, other members of the Engineering department, suppliers and outside subcontractors to achieve or exceed anticipated results. * Exhibits electro-mechanical aptitude and provides innovative approaches to problem solving. * Communicates clearly with customers, equipment vendors and installation subcontractors while developing and supporting a "team" environment. * Strives at all times to provide premier service to both internal and external customers. * Ensures the highest quality of work from our vendors, resulting in total customer satisfaction. * Continuously seeks to improve internal processes through streamlining efforts. * Assists in maintaining a healthy work environment by following company, customer, general contractor and job site standards and procedures. * Positively affects the Engineering department in order to consistently exceed corporate quarterly and annual sales goals in profitability and revenue. _______________________________________________________________________ ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. With the guidance of the VP of Engineering and Senior Engineering staff, and using the assigned resources, is responsible for overseeing the installation, commissioning, training and turnover of material storage, picking and handling systems by execution of the following: * Functions with minimum supervision and oversight while adhering to Company policies and procedures. * Plans, schedules, conducts, coordinates and oversees the detailed activities of the assigned work after gaining a complete understanding of the project requirements and project schedule. * Participates, prepares and coordinates the completion of all customer and/or general contractor required training and job site documentation forms. * Participates, assists, oversees and/or takes the lead with receiving and check-in of system mechanical and electrical equipment deliveries. * Participates, assists, oversees and/or takes the lead with the receipt, inventory and turnover of system spare parts deliveries to our customers. * Implements orders and manages both mechanical and electrical installation subcontractor agreements. * Oversees both mechanical and electrical installation teams and activities. * Assists in the training of new hires in the areas of Company and departmental standards, procedures, etc. * Practices and promotes teamwork and leads by example. * Travels as required for project coordination activities, training, etc. _______________________________________________________________________ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Minimum of 1-3 years of experience, as a project manager and/or site supervisor. * Demonstrates leadership skills with experiencing supervising others. * Working knowledge of AutoCAD software. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Project software. * Proficiency using MS Office products and the internet. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. _______________________________________________________________________ ADDITIONAL / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience. * Minimum of 5 years of experience, as a project manager and/or site supervisor. * Working knowledge of basic material handling system design. * Working knowledge of basic controls solutions for material handling systems. * Understanding or working knowledge of the following: * HMI interfaces * SCADA software * Bar code scanning solutions * Network systems * Warehouse Control System (WCS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS) _______________________________________________________________________ ATTRIBUTES * Committed to Customer Service as top priority. * Goal-oriented and self-motivated with a sense of urgency. * Exceptional attitude with a continuous positive spirit. * Superior work ethic promoting collaboration, respect and hard work among all team members. * Driven to succeed and to continuously improve skills and abilities. * Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills. * Superior mechanical and electrical aptitude and ability to provide technical analysis. * Strong ability to effectively prioritize tasks and projects. * Detail oriented with ability to multi-task. * At ease interacting and building professional relationships with a wide range of personality types. * Ability to be an effective team player. _______________________________________________________________________ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
