Computer Engineer

The Opportunity:

As an electronics engineer, you understand the workings behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to providing troubleshooting and engineering analysis on devices that threaten the safety of both the warfighter and law enforcement personnel. We're looking for a computer engineer who can use their skills to apply advance technical solutions in support of law enforcement investigations.

At Booz Allen, you'll use your engineering skills to a support a broad range of partners in law enforcement. Our team performs a wide range of technical examinations required to successfully exploit both commercial and custom electronic devices. This includes reverse engineering and characterizing both the electrical function and communication characteristics of electronic circuits, while using complex instrumentation to test circuit function and extract relevant electronic data.

You Have:

• 5+ years of experience in the analysis, design, and testing of embedded software

• 3+ years of experience with reverse engineering tools, including IDA Pro, OllyDbg, or Ghidra

• Knowledge of microcontroller architecture, including ARM or RISCV, and assembly language programming

• Knowledge of electronic circuit design and PCB layout

• Knowledge of physical interfaces used for inter-IC communication, including I2C, SPI, LPC, or PCIE

• Ability to program with Python, C, and C++ programming language

• Ability to prepare written documents, including reports, test plans, design specifications, requirements documents, and training materials

• Ability to brief and present findings to clients, customers, and external partners, interact with client engineers, and respond to technical questions and requests from customers

• Top Secret clearance

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with Chain of Custody and evidence handling procedures in a forensic laboratory

• Experience with imaging, extracting, and parsing data from electronic devices

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.
