Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is a national leader in integrating community-based medical education and clinical care. We are dedicated to training physicians, scientists, and health professionals committed to serving the community. The College of Medicine is also an academic and clinical affiliate of Baptist Health and Nicklaus Children's Hospital.

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) at Florida International University (FIU) seeks applicants for an open rank, non-tenure track, full-time, faculty appointment as Director of the Green Family Foundation NeighborhoodHELP (NHelp). The Director will serve as an accountable, visionary leader responsible for overseeing operations, implementing educational objectives, and ensuring strategic management of this vital program. This includes providing strategic leadership and administrative oversight of NHelp's clinical operations; and positioning the program as a key partner in FIU's Public Health Initiative. Additionally, the Director will oversee the assessment and evaluation of NHelp's impact on access to care and will actively pursue and support educational partnerships that support and enhance the program's reach. The role will also lead the implementation of clinical sites to support the NeighborhoodHELP model in targeted geographies.

The selected candidate will collaborate with the HWCOM Internal Center Advisory Board (ICAB) and relevant FIU departments to develop and define program infrastructure and strategic goals, ensuring accountability for defined deliverables.



Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree of PhD or MD. Specialty in Epidemiology or closely related discipline, including Medicine or Public Health. A minimum of three years of experience in academic/educational leadership or equivalent experience is required.



Desired Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include: Experience in leadership in academic/clinical settings; evidence of strategic and operational roles leading large-scale community, public health or educational initiatives; leadership in clinical/public health program implementation and oversight; demonstrated excellence in building and sustaining cross-sector partnerships; experience leading initiatives with rigorous program evaluation, impact measurement, and effective quality improvement implementation efforts. Prior experience obtaining extramural funding, is valuable.
