  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline
  • At least 3 years of directly related experience

    • An Advanced degree may substitute for related experience


  • Good communication skills including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data (meetings, email, presentations, customer deliverables, etc.)
  • Ability to develop networks and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Works collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Displays informal leadership characteristics.
  • Questioning attitude and practices self-checking.
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Office and business unit specific software tools (ex. CAD, FEA, CFD, etc.) and computer programming skills.

Your Opportunity

This full-time role is about making an impact on people's lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Chemical Process Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the NDE Solutions Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. You will work in Framatome's Mill Ridge Road and Mt. Athos Road Chemistry Material Center laboratory. Your work will span from assessing chemical cleaning effects/impacts utilizing a combination deposit loading, degradation mechanisms, and chemistry conditions to developing processes targeting removal of corrosion product deposits from steam generators. Your role will interpret lab results and benchmark them against industry data for improvement over existing technologies. The chemical cleaning process this Chemist/Scientist/Engineer II's will follow was developed for the industry. While the roles and responsibilities of the Chemist/Scientist II's day-to-day tasks and project specific work described above may seem intimidating, what we are looking is a strong candidate with a demonstrated aptitude to learn new programs and expand your skill sets. This position requires occasional travel. Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $83,000 - $113,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
