About This Role

The assistant professor of teaching will teach leadership courses and support the mission of the School - developing bold, curious, and connected learners to address our world's most complex challenges. The selected candidate will be responsible for a combination of the following: teach and administer an introductory large lecture course, prepare peer educators, teach smaller sized leadership courses, and support the mission of the Staley School of Leadership. Staley School faculty work in teaching teams as appropriate and co-create curriculum in addition to administering the daily operations of their courses.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Earned master's degree
  • Experience with engaged teaching or facilitating engaged educational experiences


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Demonstrated evidence of a strong commitment to mentoring students at the post-secondary level
  • Demonstrated evidence of success as an advocate for the whole student experience at the post-secondary level
  • Demonstrated evidence of a strong commitment to pedagogies of engagement such as applied learning, service learning, internships, learning communities, and civic engagement
