Position Type: Paraprofessional/Classroom Para Date Posted: 8/21/2025 Location: Minnewashta Elementary Date Available: 2025-2026 Closing Date: 08/25/2025 at noon Assignment: The primary focus of the work will be to support the teacher and students in general education during literacy and transitions. 10:00-12:00: Support transitions, Integrated Reading/Writing and morphology. 1 additional hour daily: Responsive literacy groups, science/social studies when literacy skills are essential. Not eligible for medical or dental benefits Job Responsibilities: Provides academic and social/emotional support in a 4th grade classroom by working with small groups and individual students under the supervision of the lead teacher. Job Qualifications: Experience working with elementary students. Evidence of strong math and reading skills. Evidence of strong skills in supporting students struggling with anxiety and school avoidance Strong crisis and conflict management skills Demonstrated ability to take initiative. Clear communication in speaking and writing. Evidence of friendly, outgoing personality. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. Evidence of willingness to participate in staff development.
