The future is now, Willdan is "Envisioning the Future" of building and safety through our work with cities, buildings, and transportation. Public Agency Resources (PARS), a subsidiary of Willdan Group Inc., is seeking part-time Code Enforcement Officers in Monterey County, CA to help ensure safe, vibrant, and thriving communities. You will work as part of a three-person team, focused on vendor enforcement in the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a Code Enforcement Officer, you'll play a key role in protecting public health, safety, and quality of life by:

  • Patrolling assigned areas with the team and monitor vendor activity for compliance with city/county codes.
  • Educating vendors on permit requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Issue warnings, notices of violation, and citations as appropriate.
  • Responding to community complaints regarding vendor activity in a professional manner.
  • Documenting inspections and enforcement actions, including reports and photos.
  • Collaborating with teammates, local law enforcement, health departments, and city officials as needed.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Background in law enforcement, corrections, code enforcement, or security preferred.
  • Certified Code Enforcement Officer, current or prior law enforcement, or PC 832 certification.
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written).
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
