OVERVIEW


The Maintenance Technician provides the necessary abilities and skill sets needed to ensure the proper care, and maintenance of the facilities and equipment of IEWC. This position resides in the corporate headquarters of IEWC but is not solely limited to the one location. This employee may infrequently be called upon to assist in functions at other locations to ensure that the multiple distribution and sales centers can provide the best possible service for the Company's stakeholders.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Assist in the completion and maintenance of all required paperwork, records, and documentation.
  • Perform regular maintenance to equipment and facilities, as directed.
  • Perform highly diversified duties to repair and maintain equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Assist other departments as needed with scheduled functions.
  • Assist in maintaining departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Provide effective communication with all employees, his or her Supervisor, outside resources and contractors.
  • Comply and follow all safety regulations and work rules.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

TECHNICAL SKILLS



  • Education and/or Experience: High School graduate (or GED), one year of post high school education, or 24 or more months of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to define problems and collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical information involving a few concrete variables.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: A valid driver's license and a valid passport.
  • Computer Applications Skills: Ability to work in a Windows environment and with standard current computer applications.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Movement: Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. Frequently required to stand and walk, to stoop, kneel or crouch, to use feet to operate equipment. Frequently required to talk and hear. Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders and climb or balance. Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Occasionally is exposed to outside weather conditions. Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places. Frequently is exposed to fumes and airborne particles. Frequently is exposed to a noise level ranging from moderate to high. Occasionally is exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Requires the use of safety shoes and eye protection.
