AES Clean Energy is currently seeking an Associate Developer for its renewable energy projects in Arizona and Nevada. Department: Development, West Region, AZ/NV Market
Reports To:Development Manager, AZ/NV
This is a remote position; however, the ideal candidate will be based in Arizona to better align with the team's needs. There will be 10-15% travelling to project sites. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate with internal subject matter experts (SMEs), including but not limited to land, real estate, permitting, engineering, environmental, interconnection, commercial, insurance, tax, legal, finance, pre-construction, execution, and procurement teams, as well as outside consultants, on an as needed basis, to ensure that projects are meeting development milestones, development risks are being mitigated, and project returns are maximized.
Support relationships with local, state, and federal authorities having jurisdiction, including but not limited to municipal, county, state, and tribal authorities, on an as needed basis, to ensure projects are obtaining all possible incentives and have good standing within the local communities.
Implement and maintain project task management system, including but not limited to engineering, estimating, commercial curve, financial model, and P6 scheduling requests.
Assist land and real estate teams in the acquisition of development assets, on an as needed basis, by researching land records and reviewing and understanding real property agreements, including but not limited to, option agreements, purchase/lease agreements, rights-of-way agreements, easements, ALTA surveys, legal descriptions, and title reports.
Collaborate with and support SMEs as well as outside consultants, on an as needed basis, with research and analysis; coordinating and running in-person/virtual meetings or phone calls; and tracking project progress to provide up to date project information.
Support the Interconnection team with interconnection applications, review and analysis of large generator interconnection procedures and timelines, interconnection study reviews and analysis, material modification assessments, and interconnection and transmission strategy.

Exceptional presentation and communication skills (written, verbal, non-verbal, visual, and listening).
Leadership, collaboration, negotiation, persuasion, and other key interpersonal and relationship skills; with a proven ability to work supportively and collaboratively with other teams.
Able to demonstrate experience dealing successfully with peers, subordinates, management, and unaffiliated third parties.
1-3 years' relevant experience administering/developing projects and/or project financing, preference for experience working in the power/renewable energy industry, in Arizona, Nevada, and/or Tribal markets.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBase, Box, SharePoint, Ironclad, and Microsoft Project.
BS/BA degree required with concentration in engineering, environmental, energy, planning, business, real estate development, construction management, project management, finance, or economics.
