- Estimated annual base pay:
- Level 1: $64,080 (minimum) - $80,100 (midpoint) - $96,120 (maximum)
- Level 2: $90,560 (minimum) - $113,200 (midpoint) - $135,840 (maximum)

Are you ready to make your mark? If you're a Quality Engineer, we have an exciting opportunity for you. This position reports directly to the Quality leader and is responsible for providing a moderate level of customer and organizational support for quality & regulatory requirements, compliance, and system and process improvements. This position coordinates root cause and corrective action across multiple functions. This role is 2nd Shift, core hours are 3pm-11:30pm M-F with some fluctuation in hours due to production.
What You Will Be Doing
Level 1:
- Performs quality related activities associated with the nonconforming material control process.
- Is actively involved in problem solving activities, and ensuring the robustness of root cause and corrective action analysis (RCCA) when necessary.
- Performs advanced quality planning processes. Examples include Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)/First Article Inspection (FAI), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) processes. (May be performed by CQE at some sites.)
- Proactively Identifies and drives resolution to systemic issues within the organization.
- Assembles and monitors appropriate company/customer metrics andproposes improvements for the performance of Quality. May analyze the metrics and provide recommendations based on the results.
- Acts as the customer liaison/advocate for Woodward compliance to customer quality requirements and customer satisfaction relative to quality of products and services.
Level 2:
- Accountable for ensuring the robustness of root cause analysis and problem solving utilizing Six Sigma methodology and Woodward Quality Management System processes.
- Drives continuous improvement across the operation (i.e. defines improvement goals, establishes accountability through SQDRC metrics, uses Lean/Six Sigma tools and techniques to continually improve processes and business results, and establishes a mindset within operations to document and control processes; promotes safety and housekeeping; uses facilitative leadership).
- Acts as the customer liaison/advocate for Woodward compliance to customer quality requirements and customer satisfaction relative to quality of products and services.
- May be accountable for customer accounts, along with resolving complex issues. Drives resolution to systemic issues within the organization.
- Performs quality related activities associated with the nonconforming material control process.
- Develops procedures and work instructions that are required per the Quality Management System.Manages the review and approval of QMS documents.
What We Are Looking For
Level 1:
- Associate's Degree or a 4 year degree in a business related field with a minimum of 3 years experience in quality related activities, required.
- Prior experience in quality, engineering, machine shop, assembly or functional testing related experience is preferred.
- Prior experience in Quality Management Systems experience (document management, internal and/or external audits, nonconforming material control, and root cause and corrective action processes), preferred.
- Demonstrates solid computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point required.Knowledge of MS Project and Visio a plus.
- Green Belt certification (or equivalent CI/RCCA certification) preferred.
- Up to 20% travel may be required.
Level 2:
- Bachelor's Degree required. Degree in a related technical field is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of quality, engineering, machine shop, assembly or functional testing experience required.
- Minimum 5 years of Quality Management Systems experience, including experience related to document management, internal and/or external audits, nonconforming material control, and root cause and corrective action processes, is required.
- Demonstrates solid computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point required.Knowledge of MS Project and Visio a plus.
- Lead auditor certification preferred.
- Green Belt certification (or equivalent CI/RCCA certification) preferred.
- Up to 20% travel may be required.
